About the Location: our base is in Boyle (Angling Services Ireland), Co. Roscommon, a small town in the West of Ireland with a population of about 3000. In this Region there is an abundance of great angling opportunities.
We specialise in pike fishing, as these hard fighting predators inhabit most of the waters in this part of the country. Although there is also good brown trout fishing, coarse angling and sea angling available nearby.
Angling Services Ireland’s guides have intimate knowledge of the local waters and their inhabitants and will do their best to put visiting anglers in touch with fish. Pike angling is our speciality and many trophy-sized pike are caught here every year.
Please note: we practice strictly “Catch & Release” only with all pike! During your stay you will fish on a variety of good pike waters. Most fishing will be done from our boats, whereby all safety equipment will be supplied. Some of the methods we employ are: Spinning & trolling lures and baits, jerk-baiting, fly-fishing for pike and more.
We also offer fly-fishing for pike from float-tubes on some of the many smaller and more remote lakes. This can be spectacular fun. The guide will always make recommendations as to what might work best, while also considering your own fishing preferences and abilities.
There is a tackle shop nearby in Boyle, but clients can also purchase many of our favourite lures and tackle directly from our guide shop/booking office. Brands we stock include: Strike Pro, Zalt, Musky Innovations, and more. Accommodation:
A delightful Victorian residence situated on the edge of the attractive town of Boyle. B&B accommodation consists of six bedrooms, with en-suite facilities.

Also adjoining Abbey House are excellent self-catering cottages (two storey), which offer freedom and flexibility. Facilities include: Each house has two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living room with TV.
The accommodation is only a 5-minute walk from Boyle’s town centre and all its amenities such as shops, restaurants, pubs, gym, museum, etc. The chalets cater for 3 persons each. Changeover day is Saturday.
Guided Pike package (self-catering) The package includes:
(Electricity and heating oil are charged for as used and are not included)
On all fishing days the clients will be guided by a professional pike guide. If clients wish other fishing, such as trout or sea angling, can also be incorporated in the package. When guiding groups of 4 persons or more, 2 anglers will be in the boat with the guide and others follow in additional boats.
This is best done by rotating anglers during the week, so everybody gets to fish with the guide at least once. We may also decide at our own discretion to employ one or more additional guides in order to cater adequately for larger groups. Guided Pike Package (Bed & Breakfast)
As above, although with B&B accommodation in the main building on the same property as above. We can pick up our guests at the accommodation every morning before fishing and drop them back in the evening or alternatively arrange to meet them at the lakeside.
We can provide Airport pick up and drop off from both Dublin and Knock airports, or alternatively car rental is available, for those who do not travel with their own car. All enquiries welcome. We can tailor packages around your requirements.
